Lyrics Explanation - for those who live outside Fairfield
The Mantra Mash

Mantra is a meaningless, mellifluous sound used to achieve a state of pure consciousness during the Transcendental Meditation technique
by Andy Mack
and the Loud Sutras
Andrew MacKenzie, comedian and broadcasting consultant in Iowa
Sutras are silent impulses of consciousness used during the TM-Sidhis
I was sitting on the foam
late one day
when the laws of nature
began to play.
Foam refers to the cushions in the Golden Domes
Late afternoon group practice of the TM-Sidhis program is about 5:15 pm
Laws of nature are the forces that create, maintain and change the universe, including gravity.
My body in the air began to rise
then suddenly, to my surprise
He did the Mash (chorus repeats)
I did the Mantra Mash
I went up, then I crashed
It made my brain start to flash
I did the Mantra Mash
Mash - a dance consisting of a grinding motion with the feet, also to crush or grind

The electrical activity of the left and right cerebral hemispheres go in to phase coherence, and integration, during the practice of the TM-Sidhis program, as measured by EEG and MRI.

As I lay there wondering just what I had done
The laws of nature had a little more fun
My feet by themselves went up, and then
My head went down, and once again.
Personification of the blissful quality of natural law
I did the Mantra Mash
My hopes of flying were dashed
My spinal column got trashed
I did the Mantra Mash
Hopes for practicing Yogic Flying

The Sidhas were all having fun
The hovering had just begun
Purusha flew formations
while humming the cosmic hum.
Sidhas - practitioner of the TM-Sidhis program, ideally one who has mastered the Sidhis, or perfections, as cognized by Patanjali.

Purusha - a group of up to 1000 men who have dedicated their lives to the mastery of Yogic Flying and other Sidhis.

It turned in to a party
Folks were digging the sounds
Of a raga in rag time
while doing their rounds
Raga - traditional melodic type of Vedic music

Ragtime - style of jazz

Ghandarvans laid down
All their funkiest jive
With their vocal group
The Flipped SU-5
Ghandarvans are musicians who play Vedic music, with such instruments as the sitar and tabla.
Funky - combination f jazz, blues, and soul music
Jive - jazz or swing music
Flipped SU-5 is a leading Unified Field Theory proposed by physicists such as John Hagelin, PhD.
They did the Mantra Mash
It was a Vedic bash
They ate their whole Amrit stash
And played the Mantra Mash

Vedic refers to having to do with the "science of life" contained in text passed down by rishis over the centuries.

Amrit Kalash is a natural, herbal food supplement to improve health and consciousness.

The Dome was rocking full of partying Ru's
When in through a window, Count Dracula flew
He drank in our vibes
As he flew through the hall
And said
"Perhaps I should be a vegetarian after all."
Ru is short for Guru, a slang term for meditators

Count Dracula is a character in Romanian legends who is a vampire

Most meditators seem to adopt a vegetarian diet

Now he does the Mantra Mash
He does it with such panache
Our diets no longer clash
He does the Mantra Mash
Panache - elegant style

The Count was formerly on a liquid diet.

Now everything's cool
Drac is really a gift
When people aren't flying
He gives us a lift
But he won't be here long, because sooner or later
He plans to become a Sidhis Administrator
108_0871.jpgA Sidhis Administrator travels the country to teach advanced courses in Transcendental Meditation, give advice about the practice, and to award winners of Yogic Flying competitions.  For example, Doug Birx awards Rod Falk.

And he'll teach the Mantra Mash
He'll bring in lots of cash
All his prices are slashed
He'll teach the Manta Mash
Referring to the course fee for the TM-Sidhis program
