Finally, one last correction. I just recalled the Merv Griffin Show
was taped at the historic Ivar Theatre (earlier I called it the
M.G.Theatre) which was located on Ivar Avenue, between Hollywood Blvd
and Sunset Blvd.. O.K now.
p.p.s. The second show with Maharishi may have been as late as 1977
(according to wikipedia) rather than within a year of the first show
that I mentioned.
P.S. There may have been an appearance in Las Vegas that I am not
aware of. I was personally involved at the two mentioned in my
earlier comment from today, both taped In Hollywood. :-)
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi appeared with Merv Griffin on two separate
occasions both at the Merv Griffin Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The date
of the first April, 1975. The second followed within the year. Clint
Eastwood and Mary Tyler Moore were on that second show. I was in the
Green Room with MMY, Eastwood, Moore et al. When Mr. Eastwood entered
the room, he did take a flower hidden in his jacket and handed it to
Maharishi. There was a press conference on stage following the taping.
What an honor.
Thank you for posting this. It was a gift for me to have been in the
audience for the first show featuring MMY, Dr. Bloomfield et al and
then in the green room as a meditating member of the media for the
next segment with MMY, Mr. Eastwood and Ms Moore. It's a gift to see
this again.
